What is Cha-Ching?
Cha-Ching is a Canadian small press comics grant. The grant is awarded once per year. Applicants can receive up to $500 towards printing exciting and ambitious comics projects.Who is eligible for Cha-Ching?
Our intention is to support creators who are looking to make a leap in their practice, which can include things like:- Increasing a print-run to lower the retail price of a work, and reach a wider audience.
- Making the jump from self-stapled zines to books with a spine.
- Creating formally inventive works that expand concepts of what comics are (comics beyond pamphlets or books).
No professional publishing experience is needed. At the same time, artists who have been published (in any capacity), or have received other grants are also welcome to apply.
While applicants may re-apply every year, you are only eligible to receive the award once.
